NOTAM-NOTAM Everywhere: Indian Military Conducts Largest Ever Exercises Across The Nation

India is currently conducting extensive nationwide military exercises, which are characterized by unprecedented Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) that signal a profound doctrinal shift toward high operational readiness. The centerpiece, Exercise Trishul, is testing the integrated combat capabilities of over 20,000 troops, fighters, and naval assets across the western frontier in a potent display of strategic deterrence.

India’s extensive late-2025 military exercises, highlighted by pervasive Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) nationwide, signal a significant strategic shift toward integrated warfare and high operational readiness. This mobilization operationalizes the Prime Minister’s JAI doctrine: Jointness, Atmanirbharta (Self-Reliance), and Innovation.

The centerpiece is Exercise Trishul, a 12-day tri-service drill (Oct 30-Nov 10) on the western front, stretching from the Thar Desert to the sensitive Sir Creek sector. Deemed the “largest ever,” this claim rests on the unprecedented complexity and integration of more than 20,000 Army personnel (T-90S/Arjun tanks), Air Force strike assets (Rafale, Su-30 MKI), and Naval amphibious units. The drill rigorously tested joint offensive maneuvers, multi-domain capabilities (including EW and Cyber), and validated indigenous weapon systems. Positioned near Sir Creek, the exercise is serving as a calculated demonstration of deterrence following explicit political warnings.

The national scope of readiness extended beyond the west, with concurrent NOTAMs issued for an 11-day aerial exercise over the Bay of Bengal and staggered high-tempo IAF drills across the Northeast into 2026 . This simultaneous activity tested command agility for potential two-front contingencies. This massive mobilization, however, resulted in quantifiable disruption: NOTAMs closed 32 airports and 25 air traffic routes , leading to 2,458 cancelled or rescheduled commercial flights across major carriers . Pakistan reacted defensively, issuing counter-NOTAMs and adjusting deployments, validating India’s objective of projecting credible deterrence in the post-Operation Sindoor security environment.

🚨 India has now issued a NOTAM for an IAF Exercise across its entire northeastern region bordering China, Bhutan, Myanmar & Bangladesh

It is also believed that these exercises are testing out current plans and ability of Indian military to inflict heavy territorial losses on Pakistan. Indian side has made it clear that they never stopped the Op Sindoor and ceasefire is nothing but an “operational pause”, leaving room for interpretation which experts believe can mean its not about if but when the next round begins. But one thing is certain, the preparation is to take the tempo and threshold of next wave of operations to whole new level where huge losses will be inflicted on enemy in shortest amount of time.
